Switching converter with stabilised output voltage for adapting the supply voltage to different types of electronic equipment, such as car stereos, mobile phones, etc. The switching technology significantly reduces the power loss as compared to standard regulation. The input is protected against reversed polarity and overvoltage, the output is short circuit proof and overvoltage protected. The converter also has thermal protection. Input and output are electrically separated from each other and the chassis.
